After his mate was struck by a car, this swallow stayed by her side, even bringing food to her. After realizing she had passed, he seems to be crying out in pain at her loss.

    I wonder what qualia a bird can feel. It might not be sophisticated, but it cerainly seems to be intense and controlling of his behavior.

    certainly these pics evoke in me very storng qualia — in my attempt to ‘align’ my qualia with those of the bird tears come to my eyes —
